Internet Vacancies rise for 10th consecutive month

Internet job advertisements increased by 7.0% (or 12,600 advertisements) in February 2021 to stand at 192,000. This represents the 10th consecutive month-on-month increase in job advertisements, which now stand 24.8% (or 38,100 advertisements) above the level recorded in February 2020.

The preliminary February Internet Vacancy Report, released today, found recruitment activity increased across all states and territories during February 2021.

  • New South Wales recorded the largest increase over the month with job advertisements up by 5,200 (9.2%)
  • All states and territories recorded increased recruitment activity over the year to February 2021.  The strongest growth was recorded in Tasmania, up by 52.4% over the year, followed by the Northern Territory (47.8%) and South Australia (46.6%).
